Through steel bars and locked cages, their sad faces
leave a haunting vision. They are the forgotten victims
in a world that doesn't have the time or resources to
save them. Dogs (and cats), big and small, mixed
breed and purebred waiting to meet their fate
adoption or death.

In shelters across America, millions of animals are
euthenized each year. Some municipal shelters have
kill rates over 85% with only about 1 out of 10 adult
animals entering the shelter ever getting out alive.

Where do these animals come from? Most were once
somebody's pet. Whether stray, abandoned, or simply
"dropped off" by their owner - all have one thing in
common - neglect. While most are generally in good
health, they are dirty, traumatized and often in
need of treatment for minor medical conditions. With
just a little effort and love, these dogs can make
wonderful pets.

Ariel Rescue saves all breeds of dogs by rescuing
them from municipal "kill" shelters and rehabilitating
them for adoption. Dogs are "bought out" from the
shelter (yes - there is a fee sometimes over $100
even when it is rescue!) taken immediately to a
veterinarian, groomed and given tender loving care.
Most are frightened and emotionally traumatized but
are higly resilient and trainable once in a safe environment.

Ariel Rescue works with municpal shelters to help
promote adoptions. We also participate in community
programs providing veterinary services to animals in
impoverished areas.
